Music lead this young man from simple background to donors and patrons who made decisive impressions on his life. But music also drove him to the Ukraine where he invested all his belongings and donors cash into an orchestral project with a view to offering young musicians a brighter future. After eleven years of devoted work with his musicians the conductor faces ruin. Gunhard Mattes takes us along on a journey to Lemberg in the Ukraine where he seals the ending of a great mission.
